With no House Republicans voting for Obama's stimulus plan, it is clear that any efforts Obama has/is trying to make in crossing party lines and rallying support from both sides of the spectrum for PROGRESS in the country are simply being thrown out the window.
Actually, to be more specific, it would seem like the GOP is trying to capitalize(what else is new) on Obama's more fair and ideologically balanced approach to this ridiculous bi-cameral system. They want to abuse Obama's approach by overstepping their bounds greatly and striving for a 50% share of everything: The decisions of the Administration, Congress, and government agencies.
It is sad as I see a bill FOR THE PEOPLE slowly get whittled down by the GOP into the same type of economic stimulus packages passed by George W Bush during his 8 years. THOSE DIDN'T WORK... if they had we might have been able to avoid some of the hard-hitting repercussions of this depression.
James Carville had some good words for the GOP and idiots like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. These far-right leaners(from statistics it seems like the entire conservative spectrum is leaning ever more right as each day passes) presume that the GOP is 'bending over and taking it' because of the racial precedent set by the new President we have. They also advocate conservatives to come together and rally to prevent a total liberal takeover of the country. They want the Republican politicians to fight with everything they have to try and keep a 'fair' presence in Washington. Carville retorts this idea with a smart statement: "Heck, had Democrats been able to control 50 percent of the government from 2000 to 2004, we wouldn't have even gone into Iraq in the first place."
You misguided conservatives need to step down and sit the fuck back. IT'S OUR TURN MOTHERFUCKERS.
Obama '09 - '16 dammit.
