Then why aren't we at war with Saudi Arabia Mr. Cornyn?

Gosh, I love it when Republicans say things that don't make sense.

Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn said in a written statement:

"The attacks of September 11th were an act of war. Reverting to a pre-9/11 approach to fighting terrorism and bringing these dangerous individuals onto U.S. soil needlessly compromises the safety of all Americans."


If 9/11 was an act of war against the United States. then why aren't we at war with Saudi Arabia? All 19 individuals involved in the terrorist acts committed on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. They were all Saudi Arabian. And if they were linked with Al-Qaeda, then why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia?


Cuz of the relationship between the Bush family and and Saudi Royal family.


So can Obama make friends with Iran, and us just forget about the problems they have caused in the region? Please Republicans, when you have an answer, let me know.

Republican Version of Freedom

I believe, that the Republican version of freedom is specifically the freedom to remove freedoms from the civil rights of others.

Take Abortion.
Take Immigration.
Take Taxes.
Take the Internet.
Take Women's Rights.
Take Minorities' Rights.

Notice the gradual increase of income going to the top of the food chain. That is creating a situation where those that have the most money, therefore are the most ABLE and free to do and pursue anything they want in the US, those people are lessening the freedoms of others below them, simply because of the decrease in disposable income limiting the poor people's ability to do ANYTHING. The formerly disposable income of the poor has turned into $38 billion in bank fees distributed to the wealthy. That's just for last year.

Funny thing is, since most of these Repubs listen to good ol' Rushbo, they can't even recite the most important, the most core phrase to our Declaration of Independence. No matter what that filthy dog Rush says, the correct phrase is:

'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.' This should not be interpreted differently by different people. This is a core, neutral phrase that defines us as Americans, and no other version of this quote applies.

So the Obama girls are now spawns of Satan?

Westboro Baptist Church, the fringe-of-the-fringe anti-gay group famous for protesting at military funerals and claiming that God is punishing the country for its tolerance of homosexuality, was spotted this morning protesting outside Sidwell Friends, the school attended by Sasha and Malia Obama.

Protesters were carrying signs with anti-gay, anti-abortion and anti-Obama slogans, slowing down traffic all along Wisconsin Avenue this morning.

One member, Megan Phelps-Roper, posted a picture on Twitter of the protest.

Westboro Baptist Church, founded by Fred Phelps and made up mostly of Phelps family members, has garnered national attention for carrying signs such as "Thank God for 9/11" and protesting at funerals, including that of Matthew Shepard, the student who was killed in 1998 because he was gay.

They believe that the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as well as the ensuing wars and even the mass shooting last week at Fort Hood, are punishment from God for tolerance of homosexuality. They plan to picket the Fort Hood memorial service this Tuesday.

The group, which is not affiliated with the Baptist church, protests nearly every day in Washington, D.C., rotating around the city. According to their web site, today they plan to hit a few more local schools and the White House, and will be at the Sidwell Friends Lower School tomorrow afternoon.

"Quakers?! Are you frigging kidding me? You pretend to be all non-violent, and you allow the most bloody, deceitful, evil, murderous bastard and his shemale sidekick to place their satanic spawn within your four walls?" reads the posting for today's protest at Sidwell Friends, which is a Quaker school.

The school has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Randall Terry, the extreme anti-abortion protester, has also arranged demonstrations outside the school.

Almost ashamed we aren't going to single payer

While I of course support the President, and want to see change happen to the healthcare industry, I am wondering why the right things didn't happen. Democrats in this country played the health care legislation in a weak way. They set the bar low, and now the American people will suffer. Instead of starting the push for health care reform as 'Single Payer is the only option' and then compromising from the progressive, socialist realm that America is drifting towards, Democrats started in this limbo position, not in the middle, but somewhere in between single payer and Germany's public/private system. No, scratch that, the Democrats set the bar in between the free market nightmare side and a very weak very of Germany's system that relies on and utilizes the private industry too much.

The Republicans, having experience with trying to scare Americans, set the bar as far right as they could, in their favor as much as they could. And they succeeded. Any health care that isn't free market enterprise or capitalism based is some crazy liberal shit that isn't good for America. They've been playing that game for decades; set the bar as far right as you can and everything looks liberal. Well, unfortunately for them, America is drifting to the left naturally(as in on it's own), and Republicans are getting left behind to revel in their 'Great American Awakening' and Reagan values.

Question: Who do these people worship more? Reagan or their God? The Almighty God or the Almighty Dollar? I ask this, because there is another question that makes this dichotomy an issue:

Question 2: How does capitalism and free market fit with Christian values?

There is no answer to the second question. Because they don't fit. That's reality. But not a reality Reaganites live in. They have created their own reality and they refuse to step out of their own reality to help other address real problems in our country. Instead of ever thinking to come together with others who feel differently, they consider those who disagree with them 'enemies'. Literally. That's a problem in a democracy such as ours. It is a threat to it. Think Civil War.

I also love watching US Chamber of Commerce commercials trying to scare Americans against health care reform on every other commercial broadcast on cable television. Yeeeeshh.... the bill including a public option is going to be so conservative a solution why are they against it with billions of dollars in ads? Gosh, why didn't the President just push progressive values? Republicans and big business are going to push against it anyways. Republicans are always sure to take America and put it on it's heels with conservative Republican GOP agenda crap every time they control the White House, why aren't WE when we needed it the most? I sincerely hope the President figures all this out and starts to fight for his base. I really want to see another 4 years, instead of a loss of 4 years with a crazy white person in office. Truf!

Believe me, if these conservatives don't lighten their values up and start to consider the poor and minorities in this country, we will have a second Civil War that will be much bloodier and worse than the first. It very well could resemble a French Revolution. The poor versus the privileged.

And to top it off, the privileged DO NOT FEEL OR AGREE that they are privileged in any way, so they do not see a need to change this. Unless they do, like I said I fear for the future of the country. And odds are they won't. Practically guaranteed.

Scared to death!

that the RNC's psycho machine will spin Americans into believing and pushing for Republican legislation ending Net Neutrality. I'm too riled up over this to put more right now. When some things start to pan out, more ranting will pursue.
